Explore Kyoto with local

Uji Walking Tour

Start your journey in Uji, the birthplace of matcha and one of Kyoto’s most peaceful tea towns.

We’ll begin at the Chazuna Museum, where you’ll learn in English about Uji’s fascinating history and its deep connection to Japanese tea culture. After gaining this knowledge, we’ll step outside for a scenic walking tour along the Uji River.

Enjoy the calm atmosphere as we visit historic temples and shrines, explore charming tea streets, and browse local shops for authentic matcha and souvenirs.
Although this tour doesn’t include a tea ceremony, you’ll gain a real understanding of Uji’s tea heritage and everyday life.
